Wine Gifts! Just in time for the holidays…

Wine has become a recent passion of mine.  I always liked wine but it wasn’t until a new friend (and a serious wino) got me to truly appreciate and begin to understand all the cool facets of wine.  I’m still learning, so I won’t embarrass myself by acting like I know everything there is to know about wine.  What I want to do is share some great gift ideas for the wine lovers you know.  But really, these are things that I want for Christmas!

Every wine drinker or wine collector needs a good bottle stop.  I like this one because it is designed to work with other kinds of bottles, so it’s versatile and not to mention sleek and stylish:

I’ve learned that there are two types of people in this world – those who use decanters and those that don’t.  For those people that do use a decanter, I recommend this one because it does more than aerate:

I think we can all agree that the most important wine accessory is the wine glass.  You wouldn’t dare drink it straight from the bottle (I certainly never have – wink).  But you can make your wine gift special and personal, with these personalized wine glasses:

One of the coolest, funnest, funkiest things I came across while hunting for wine gifts is this tabletop wine rack.  It looks perfect for wine tasting parties because it displays both the bottles and the stemware:

For couples, you could step it up a bit and give them something more like an experience with this wine tote.  It has everything needed for a romantic picnic at the beach or in the park with wine and cheese:

I chose these gift ideas because to me they met a criteria that makes gift giving simple and easy.  They are all practical, stylish and affordable.  Plus, if you’re giving any of them to a wine lover, you don’t really have to worry about whether or not the other person will like the gift.  That’s the beauty of winos – if it has to do with wine, we like it!  Happy gift giving, folks!

Wine Bar for the Holidays

Get your Wine Bar Fully stocked for the holidays, before it’s too late!  I’m not just talking about wine here, there are other accessories you will need to achieve hostess with the mostest status when it comes to serving wine, here are some great tips to get you started!

First, pick a wine rack or a wine bar.  I love the idea of a wine bar because really they don’t have to take up much more room than a wine rack does, but they usually incorporate some other type of storage or at least a serving area on top.  My favorite pick in this category is this Expandable Wine Bar which is great for compact storage of up to 9 bottles of your favorite vinos plus it has an open storage shelf for liquor bottles and a hanging stemware rack.  That’s really all the space you need for a home bar.  The top expands to create a full size bar, great for all of those holiday parties (and for year-round fun of course).

Second, gather all wine accessories.  This includes wine glasses, my favorite current style are stemless with a monogram or some other kind of personalization.  Also don’t forget a wine opener, foil cutter and, the newest addition to my wine bar, a decanter.  This is for when you really are having a nice sit down dinner party, it looks beautiful on the table.  I like the modern clear glass styles with stainless pourers.

Third, have fun with it!  Invite guests over, and make sure to have a variety of wines on hand, including white!  Many people forget that white wine is really making a comeback, many people expect to see it there so don’t be left out of the loop and don’t forget to chill the white!

Happy Holidays!
