Throw a Fall Wine Party

I know, it’s still a little early but everyday it feels like fall is just around the corner!

Autumn has always been my favorite time of year.  Whenever we get that first blustery day with clouds in the sky and leaves falling from the trees… I cannot contain my excitement.  First of all, it means the weather is finally cooling off. It also means the holidays are coming which means spending time with loved ones and having cozy nights by the fireplace.  I can’t wait to pull out the snuggly throw blankets and shop for sweaters and scarves.

fallwineI associate wine with this time of the year, more than any.  I mean don’t get me wrong, any time of year is a good time for wine, but there’s something about autumn changes that go so perfectly with a rich, spicy red.  And it’s a beautiful time of the year to visit wine country.  Especially if you don’t like the changes fall brings, take a trip to wine country and I guarantee it will lift your spirits!

One of my favorite ways to kick of the season is by throwing a wine event at home.  The first thing you need to do is pick your wines, as they are the leading roles.  Make sure to have a good variety, while sticking with the fall theme.  If the weather is cold, don’t be afraid to go heavy and rich.  Then, design your menu around the wine.  For these kinds of events, I don’t usually serve a full mean but a buffet of appetizers.

For anyone who likes to entertain with wine, a good wine bar is necessary.  Decorate it with sophisticate fall decor essentials.  Think woodsy, cozy and natural but still refined and mature (absolutely no plastic pumpkins folks, we’re grownups).  Of course, your guests are the icing on the cake.  After all, this time of year is about celebration and connecting with the ones we love.

Style Your Kitchen: Unique Wine Racks

“I love everything that is old; old friends, old times, old manners, old books, old wines.” ― Oliver Goldsmith

That is one of my favorite quotes of all time and definitely my favorite quote about wine.  Anyone who knows me would say this quote sums me up to a T, just have a look around my home.  I love “everything that is old” because – if it’s not new, then it has a past.  And if it has a past, then it is unique.  It has character.

Uniqueness and character are what this post is all about.  This is about wine storage for the bold and fearless.  Those who find “normal” and “average” outside of their comfort zone.  And for those who want to venture away from their normal and average styles by just dipping their toes into the water.

Take the Anteres Wine Stand by Groovystuff, for example.  You are not likely to find this tabletop wine holder in your friends’ cookie cutter kitchens.  It’s made from reclaimed teak wood, so no two wine racks are the same – even if you do know someone with this wine stand, you’re bound to have something different!

This is a good place to start, but I know some of you out there are thinking, Come on, is that the best you can do?!  I like the way you think and that brings me to my next product suggestion. You want to get bold and daring?

Check out the Santa Maria Wine Storage Wall Sculpture.  Even without the  bottles, this wine rack is a work of art for your kitchen walls.  Modern, geometric lines are paired with soft, earthy tones for an eclectic look, taking wine storage to a new level of sophistication.  This wall wine rack is for the proud wine collector who really wants to show off their collection.  So how about that?

Choosing a unique wine rack for your kitchen is the perfect first step to giving your home uniqueness, character, flare and personality!
